I am also a USAA member, 44 years. I want to offer up a possibility of why their rates have increased do much. About a month ago I visited the USAA web site and learned they recently hired a DEI director, a VP position. I look a little more on their web site and see all the organizations they support. I have no idea what they are paying the VP of DEI, or what does it require to maintain a DEI division within USAA. In my opinion USAA see’s the need to go down the DEI road? Simple put, I want the most qualified person in each position at USAA. It appears USAA is backing away for the best qualified person in each job. As a member owned business I feel their DEI position is going to cost members, and maybe the increase in rates is part of what’s going on. Please take a little time to search USAA and their DEI support to see I am not making this up. Again very simple, just hire the best qualified into each position.
