as I read this thread, I am picking up that the song is being glommed onto by the version of the media that is anti-union.

If I am correct — that it’s the union-bashing side who are trying to adopt this song, well — that is some seriously ironic “bull$#*+”.

Unions have been the backbone of our country. Unions brought fair treatment and good jobs to hardworking people. So? Just who were/are those “Rich Men North of Richmond”? Huh. Think about it.

(Btw, I heard somewhere, a while back, about a very rich, very high profile, big time developer who did not pay his electricians, plumbers, carpenters — all those hard working people who did the work for him on a major project. But (sigh) I guess people don’t remember that. We seem to have turned into a nation of amnesiacs.)

For years, hamstringing unions has been the goal of a lot of those “Rich Men North of Richmond.” Unions are/were in the best interests of the people the song is defending.

How can this song be hijacked by the one side of the media that wants unions and things like child- labor laws gone forever?

Where have all the critical thinking skills gone?
