Gone are the days when Florida was a cheap state to retire. Insurance premiums for car, home, and health can cost $1000 a month or more. I remember back in the early 2000's. We paid $125 a month for home insurance, car insurance was $600 a year, and health was $135 a month. We paid those low premiums for 10+ years. In the past few years, the cost has tripled with no signs of stopping.
