Tesla seems to figure 4mi/kWh. At $0.13/kWh that works out to be about $0.03/mile.
At 30 miles/gal and $3/gal a gas car costs about $0.10/mile.
The cost of electricity would need to triple, with no increase in cost of gas, to make things equal.
Batteries are warranted for 10+ years so it is unlikely they would ever need to be replaced.
There are reasons that an EV doesn't meet my needs but they do not include cost of charging and cost of battery replacement.
