Yes it is a little scary. When I first signed on this weekend I gave it minimal information. It immediately presented me with a list of four names, three of them were relatives (I have no idea who the fourth one was). Only one of my relatives has the same last name, the other two do not. Then when I selected to send friend invitations to my three relatives, it presented me another list of about 16 names, which included another three relatives and a former neighbor along with about a dozen people I didn't know.

They are probably people on your relatives friend list. You'll see on the side sometimes they show someone & tell you how many friends you have in common.
