If you're really worried about a leak, it's easy to shut off the autofill overnight, or for a few days, and then turn it back on - certainly easier to fill the pool that way than with a hose. If you have a leak (I've had 3 pool installed over 40 years and never had a leak), you fix it, and then turn autofill back on.

We got quotes from 4 companies, 2 offered weep lines, for overfill, not sure if it’s as efficient. We are lucky our faucet will be inside cage and only 12’ away. We need to make our final decision on auto fill, but we are choosing the weep line. The remote is gigantic, so misplaced shouldn’t be an issue. But everyone quoting $2,000 to $3200 for a gigantic remote just seems ridiculous. If we had fire, multiple water and light features, maybe. But we only have room for a small pool 28’x 12 width angled out to 18’ at the deep end. Fiesta was middle of the quotes, T&D, premiere the 2 higher quotes
