Fortunately, most of us after we are retired can go down to one car and maybe a golf cart. Or two golf carts and rent a car/hire transportation when you need it.
Another thing to do, if you don't drive your car that much, is to check with your insurance company to see if they will reduce your premium if you don't drive that much. Not a huge amount, but why pay like you drive your car 15,000 miles a year when you don't go over 5,000?
Finally, increase your deductible. Most should be able to afford the first $1,000 of any damage/repair. Many people carry $250 or $500.
