We live 100 steps from a pickleball court -- and about 15 steps from the beach tennis courts (which are right outside our back lanai) in Richmond. We play both sports several times a week and you can't beat the commute. (BTW, it's about 200 steps to a pool as well.)

Even on days when the pickleball courts are full, you can barely hear much if the doors and windows are shut. If they are open or we are on the lanai, we hear people having fun. It's like being on vacation all the time and we feel like we have our own "beach" as we look out and see sand.

If you want privacy/quiet, it's probably not for you. If you want to be "where the action is" then it might be. Just depends on what you're up for.
