It's been a looooong time since I visited NYC and always wanted to go back.
Is it true that NYC is getting very dangerous?
Have you been there recently? How safe did you feel?
Would be interesting to hear from those of you that grew up in NYC...and what your thoughts are on this subject. Also I've always been fascinated by the history of NYC so share stories of growing up there please if you would.
TIA

Make no mistake, every city has its dangers. Watch the local news here and you’ll see lots of violence in and around Orlando. NYC has changed from the Fear City days of the 70s-80s. Today tourist areas are well patrolled and safe. Like any other place, if you cdecide to explore the wrong area you could find trouble. Anyone bringing a gun to protect themselves better be well trained in using one in crowded areas with innocent people on the streets. Also have a license that is valid in NYC, or you may see a dangerous place, Rikers Island. Every time you travel be aware of your surroundings and if you get lost or confused, ask a cop. They’re all over the place. My Son and his wife live in Manhattan and love the city like I do. To those of you who don’t like NYC, stay safe at home, they will not miss you. I meet friends and family there all the time and give them tours, I have them bring walking shoes because it’s the best way to get around midtown.
BTW I wanted to see the Grand Canyon and hope to do so this year! I heard some people fall in, but I’m still going!
