Just out of curiosity I did a Google search, so now as i understand it this is the unit that tells the controller the position of the accelerator pedal. I ran into this on another cart a few years ago. I do have the equipment to test the actual sensor (if it is similar) and the other thing to look for is a loose or corroded connection to this device.
