That, tragic as it would be, is Darwinism at work. On their part, not yours. Only clueless fools (and thieves) walk around in the street at uncontrolled intersections in wholly dark clothing at night. Especially in a neighborhood that is world-renown for elderly folks and their naturally occurring poor eyesight.
