We've lived on a preserve lot for three years now. We really haven't experienced an issue with mosquitos. As you mentioned, the county does a good job of spraying and will spray when called even if not on their regular schedule. We have had an issue with wild pigs though. They have since moved on or died. We experience a lot of birds, which we love except when they carpet bomb our birdcage .

One downside is we seem to get a lot more pollen than interior lots. But for us it's worth the tradeoff to be able to be so close to nature and not have anyone behind us.
