The typical golf cart gas cap is also a fuel gauge which explains the cost, carts with electric fuel gauges MAY have just a cap. You can call some of the outside the bubble golf cart stores in Ocala and Webster and see if they have a plain gas cap (I am assuming your cart has an electric fuel gauge), otherwise I suggest you just bite the bullet and buy the $30 unit so you know your fuel level.
