So, I just got off the phone with YouTubeTV customer service. Wanted to find out if I cancelled today, would it shut off today, or would it stay on until the end of the billing cycle.
The guy incentivized me to keep my service at the same price I'm paying now, for the next 6 months. No contract. So at the end of 6 months, I can still cancel and switch to Hulu if I want. It's a great idea, because often when one goes up, all the others do too. Right now Hulu is the same price that YouTubeTV WILL be effective the next billing cycle.
If you really prefer YouTubeTV, but the price increase is a deal breaker, give them a call. Be polite. Ask them a question /about/ cancelling, and see if they offer you the promo as well. If they do, you get to keep what you like for at least another 6 months. If not, they'll help you cancel (effective your next billing cycle). Wait time on the phone was less than a minute.
