Things have a way of taking on a life of their own. Mentioned wiper blades. I think I read twice a year, or once a year. No longer are they two dollar refills. My Chevy takes two different lengths. The box stores didn't have them. I ordered them mail order from the cheap guys and they cost like $30. Good old days. The refills were standard parts and cost a couple of bucks.

Tire failure due to age. Tire rotation. I mark the tires with chalk and tell them to rotate front to back not typical cross rotation. When you cross rotate you reverse the direction that the tire rotates and that damages it.

You could run your car like an airplane. So many hours and you replace ???????????
Would be expensive but failures would be very rare..
