They own a number of the satellite businesses but I believe the main umbrella company is the Villages Operating Company (golf courses, country clubs, LSL town square, + ???); Undeveloped property is owned by The Villages of Lake Sumter Inc.

I don't know what corporation all the HR, IT, etc folks actually work for.

But, you're right, these are generally pretty low paying jobs.
