From AI:

"In Florida, pipes carrying reclaimed, recycled, or other non-potable water for irrigation are required to be purple. The purple color standard is a critical safety measure to prevent accidental cross-connections with the potable (drinking) water supply.

Florida's purple pipe identification rules:
Color coding: All non-potable distribution piping must be purple. The Florida Building Code specifies that the color purple (Pantone 522C) shall be used to identify reclaimed, rain, and gray water distribution systems."

I have seen contractors install an irrigation system filter aboveground using white pipe. This may be a violation of the Florida code.
