When you closed (if you bought new) you should have received a notice to contact the company that installed your system. They will walk through the irrigation system with you, show you how to set the timer, adjust the sprinkler heads, and give you an instructional booklet etc.
Contact the builder or home warranty and they will point you in the right direction. Up until last night it was getting fairly dry and the need to run your sprinkler system weekly is here!! Also make certain you check that you can "SEE" each sprinkler head come up and where it sprays water. We actually had 2 sprinkler heads that were not connected and did not realize it until after the warranty period......it was on our nickel to get it fixed!!
