I'm not defending President Obama's administration. I think he's been POTUS as some pretty good things have occurred. But with regard to fiscal responsibility, he's been lacking in my opinion. That will cost him my vote in 2012.
But I
will defend him against the shallow criticism that started this thread. The criticism that he is all talk and has accomplished nothing is false at best, more likely intended only to inflame the debate.
If we could all discuss facts and issues, we'd be a lot better prepared to choose new elected officials in the future.
To answer your question, our fiscal problems will ultimately be solved with a combination of deep and life-changing cuts in government spending as well as tax increases. No one wants to hear that, but again I suggest that everyone become familiar with the federal budget and which spending can be cut and what cannot and how revenues might be increased to begin to fill the deficit gap. You will be alarmed. As I've said before...think Greece.
