Did anyone see former President Bill Clinton and Obama white wash Sen. Byrd's past during Byrd's funeral.
"We know there are things he said and things he did that he came to regret," Obama said on the steps of the West Virginia capitol in Charleston, referring to a conversation he once had with Byrd.
"He said, 'There are things I regretted in my youth. You may know that.' I said, 'None of us are absent some regrets, senator. That's why we enjoy and seek the grace of God.'
"And as I reflect on the full sweep of his 92 years, it seems to me that his life bent toward justice. Like the Constitution he tucked in his pocket, like the nation itself, Robert Byrd possessed that quintessential American quality, and that is the capacity to change, a capacity to learn, a capacity to listen, a capacity to be made more perfect."
Clinton described Byrd as an example of how no man is perfect, but how the late senator knew how to grow and become a good man, leaving his mark by endlessly holding up the Constitution as the cornerstone to protect and maintain the country.
Talking about Byrd's alliance with the KKK and even Byrd being a Grand Kleagle with the KKK, Clinton said,
"I'll tell you what it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollers of West Virginia, he was trying to get elected. And maybe he did something he shouldn't have done, and he spent the rest of his life making it up. And that's what a good person does."
Yyyeessss, that is what a good person from West Virginia does to get elected Bill. Join the KKK for votes. Did Bill have a snout of some good ole' mountain shine before the funeral. He looked and sounded drunk.
During Bush's presidency, Vice President Cheney allegedly ate at a restaurant that had a painting of a Confederate flag – some Democrats went ape, implying that Cheney did so cavalierly to slight African Americans.
The double standard of Democrats to keep from facing reality. Anything to keep power.
