After reading the various posts about TV residents being annoyed by dogs relieving themselves on their lawns, we decided to go to parks/neutral areas to walk our dogs. I was surprised to see the amount of feces left behind by others. At first I allowed myself to be angered. Feces is dangerous stuff, especially allowed to remain in this heat.
Now, instead of being angry, I decided that I would clean up all this poop myself, and do so regularly. I clean up other dogs' poop for the thoughtless dog owners who leave it behind.
So if you are one of those people, walking your dog at night so no one will see you leave without cleaning up . . . please know that it is a dangerous practice. Feces carries all kinds of bacteria and disease that can be passed on to other dogs who merely sniff the remains. As the feces dries, bacteria becomes airborne. Eggs from hookworms hatch and can enter dogs' lungs.
In the wild, dogs will travel to the ends of their territory to relieve themselves. Then, some will cover their feces with dirt. Left to their own devices, dogs are cleaner than these "expletive deleted" owners!
Sad, that some people are so careless about the health, safety and welfare of others.
No, don't even ask . . . I will not walk my dogs at your mail stop.
