And then take into account how often we end up voting only "for" the lesser of two evils that are either a D or an R, because they are the only electable choices we get on a ballot.
Often, the personal integrity of a particular candidate is not reflected at all by the integrity of the party.
In fact, personal integrity often gets a trustworthy candidate thrown under the bus by his party (both are guilty), so that a more charismatic liar/impostor can rise to the top and win at
any cost to the electorate.
