I'm not that familiar with Neatdesk but, from what I've seen, you're paying for a device that scans and converts documents to a searchable PDF file. Regular scanners just save your document as an image and you can't search for text within an image. Might be worthwhile for a small business but seems a little high for personal use. Just my 2 cents...
