Actually, it's a federal thing... not limited to Florida. The Fair Housing Act established 55+ communities across the nation. Before that, there were issues about age discrimination. The Act states that no one under age 19 may reside in a 55+ community for more that 30 days and that 80% of the residents must be 55 or older.
