I have a courtyard villa ( Bonita), and to prevent the wood chips on the side of the house from washing out, I put edging along the length of the concrete walk that runs down the side of the house. This works well but it creates a trough for the water to flow down into the back yard. At the end of the walk I put lava stone to dissipate and slow down the water coming of the walk. However, I was gone most of the spring and when I returned, I found that the lava stone and everything in the path of the water had washed away.
My question is, Does anyone have an idea for slowing down or dissipating the water flowing of the end of the walk. Maybe some type of heavy stone but it also has to look appealing.
