I know, I know.... there's plenty to sort out without dragging plants. But I have some outstanding Lily and Bearded Iris that I love.
I can't seem to find much online about growing them in central florida. My info says Iris Germanica works here, but I don't know if all bearded iris are classified that way. Maybe the lack of info should give me a hint.

I am bringing Clivia, but have grown that as a houseplant up north, so will probably try it that way in Florida, as we don't have much shade around our CYV. It will be a pain to move two large pots of them, but I'll try it.

These varieties were all fairly pricey when I bought them and are now doing so well that I doubt if I would want to start from scratch again.
Anybody have an opinion to offer?
Thanks
I had a couple of beautiful orchid plants given to me by friends before I left Los Angeles. I could not leave them, I would have died first. Soooooo, along with 3 dogs and a few odds and ends, I drove them 3000 miles cross country. (Some of you will remember my saga of my trip, it was a great learning experience and I loved all of the support I got from fellow TOTV'ers.) Anyway, it was August and believe it or not we traveled through many different weather conditions, from extremely hot to very cold nights but every single night, I dragged those 5 plants into the motel rooms along with the dogs, the food, beds, leashes, etc... But the ending of this long story is.... they are thriving and looking beautiful. I have had many many orchid flowers on them and this is a perfect climate to grow them on my lanai. So, if its not tooo much trouble for you, I would vote that you take them along. You won't be sorry. Let us know what you do and how the plants are doing.... thanks.
