Gail, I have a confession, I have never used a crock pot even though I have two of them and LOVE the concept...wait, I take that back...a couple of years ago I decided to make a stew...it was beautiful...the meat, the veggies, the seasoning. Before leaving for work, I turned the pot on...I thought low might be too low and I was afraid to put it on high so I put it in the middle...medium. When I got home 8 hours later, I realized there is no medium! I was so disappointed and felt like a moron explaining to Steve why I was throwing away what was supposed to be hot stew but was, instead, bacteria laden water...
