Yes, I toured the Biltmore a few years ago. It was beautiful. I especially loved the woodwork through out the whole massive building. Technology, they were innovators way ahead of their time (1896?) They had their very own bowling alley and they had a swimming pool with under water lighting . They actually created the town Asheville NC. And they put thousands of skilled laborers to work at above the normal wages. Fascinating history.
From what I understand, there was many good times for everybody during construction. Many people enjoyed an elevated standard of living. Many of the people who work there are relatives of the original help. And there was no unions. Imagine.
