In this age of electronic media one can find whatever balance or imbalance that one wants. You are no longer a captive of what the local paper decides to print. I don't view the Sun as anything more than a "what's going on around town" funpaper. However, do note that the writer for the national news coverage is the AP and hence not much different that what you would find in any newspaper - just that you may find it on page 2 rather than page 1.

If we chose where we lived based on the political orientation of the newspaper we would truly become more polarized as a country. Our neighborhood has its share of Obama bashers but the Bush bashers still chime in even though he's been out of office for almost 3 years. In the end the topic quickly turns to golf, vacations, grandkids and all the other non-controversial stuff and everyone gets along. If you need to be surrounded by people whose focus is politics and whose views are sympathetic with your own, there may be better places to choose to live.
