Daily Sun Coverage of Dick Cheney /Obama

About a week ago President Obama made a speech on TV about the condition of this country, whether we agree with him or or not is not my complaint,my problem is this,The following day The Daily Sun had some nonsense story on the front page, and not a word about the speech on the front page(all the other newspapers across the country made it a front page item)The daily sun had a small article about the 3rd or 4th page, yet Cheney comes to TV to sell a book and the item takes up front page and 3 more half pages inside.(discusting)
Not looking for a comment just airing my gripe.

That is a result of a company-owned (republican) newspaper. Notice the anti Obama editorials every day with cartoons to go with them.
That is the price we pay for living in paradise.

True; the irony is the repubs gripe about the "liberal media" and don't seem to notice that this paper is far worse. A little bit of equality would be nice...but don't think it will happen.

It is a serious consideration that all of us propective residents need to think about. I look forward to having a more balanced resident population, if not Village owner's philosophy, by the time I start to rent. And if, while renting, I can see that the imbalance takes away from my quality of life, I will know that well before I have made any permanent commitment.

People gripe and moan and groan about politics on the board, but I have yet to hear ANY of my neighbors discuss anything political..thank goodness.

We were closet liberals

We moved here knowing that TV was pretty conservative. We decided not to get into political discussions for a variety of reasons. It finally became difficult for us to keep our views to ourselves. When we let the Obama bashers know we did not agree, one would have thought we had sprouted an extra head and horns. We are still friends with our anti-liberal friends and can even joke a bit about it. We also have found out that there are many "of us" in TV so it isn't completely lopsided.

We often role our eyes at the "news" in The Daily Fun," and we subscribe to USA Today to find out what is really happening outside of our bubble.

I hope if you move here, you will be able to enjoy the many good things and not let politics ruin it for you.

It's going to very difficult to keep this thread from being moved to the political forum.

As a reminder, the original topic dealt with how the Daily Sun covered national and local events.

Well coming from Maryland, it will be a refreshing change over the far left views here. I don't imagine that politics will be on my mind as much in TV. Too much else to do.

In addition to USA Today, you can get home delivery of the Orlando Sentinel...to get a bigger view of things.

There is no problem here. If you are a liberal do not read the paper. If you want to read the paper and not get upset, then just read the sports and lifestyle pages. A big todo about nothing. IMHO

All newspapers/periodicals I've ever seen lean toward one direction or another on MANY topics and that is often influenced by the owner of the paper. As an owner, I imagine it would take tremendous diligence to deliberately monitor your belief system to keep any 'signature' from developing in what you choose to print.

We can't ever be certain that we get the 100% or a 'balanced' reporting about anything we read anywhere, be it current events or a history book.
Even pictures don't always give you the full picture.

Read what peaks your curiosity, investigate further if you desire, discern what rings true to you and let the rest go.
