With just a little research, I confirmed that both houses of Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate, were controlled by Republicans in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. That would be most of Clinton's tenure. While you have heard the Dems hail the financial health of the country during this wonderful period under Clinton, did you ever hear the Republican Congress get credit? The question is rhetorical and the answer self evident.
Dems on the other hand are quick to pin the blame for the current economy on George Bush. My quick research shows in fact it was the Dems who controlled both houses of Congress in 2007, 2008, and 2009 or at least half of Bush's second term. Obama enjoyed a Democratic Congress, both houses, from 2009 until the mid-term elections when the Republicans took the House.
Democrats controlled both houses of Congress in 2007, 2008, and 2009 when they also had the Presidency. Wow.........and they call it the Bush recession.
