Whenever we visited, we would have to show ID and get permission at the gate to enter the community. The guard called my in-laws home to make sure they were expecting us. Harder to get into than the White House!! I wish TV had a better security system for it's residence. I know...there are so many residence and traffic would be backed up forever trying to enter the gates. It's a good thought though... I might be willing to put up with the delays at the gate for better security.

id bet the crime rate in the villages is as a good or better than most gated communities. i had a lot of employees in orlando living in gated communities and often heard of incidents happening in their heighborhood.
