The OP admits "mischief" was one of his motives for starting this thread. There is no truth nor even a rumor that such a move to ban golf carts is being considered. This thread has generated some thoughtful replies but also fed into some unnecessary hysteria.

Let's not worry too much about something not even remotely on the radar. There are enough real topics worthy of our collective wisdom where our positive energy can be focused.
