On a more serious note. I have a piece of 1/2 inch PVC long enough to use as a prop rod. One end has a rubber cane tip, the other a PVC cap. The end with the PVC cap fits into a plastic cup screwed to the bottom of the seat to hold it in place when fueling. The underside of the seat has a U shaped spring clamp to hold the rod when not in use. Works great.

I tried one of the fuel gages, but they are poorly calibrated and of little use. I put notches in a dowel spaced at intervals corresponding to 1/6 of the depth of the 6 gallon tank. Better than nothing.
