Cassie is almost 2 yrs old, was already spayed & front-declawed when we got her in December. As you can see, she is a beautiful cat. My 6 yr old cat just will not accept her and growls when they get close and then the fighting ensues. The vet tech said Cassie got along with other cats while there so I think the problem is my cat. When we introduced another kitty to my kitty, the vet instructed that we keep the new cat in a spare room, and let them sniff each other under the door for a couple weeks. Kitties are very territorial, and this did seem to work. Good luck.
