It also allowed the attic to vent better. I would definately recommend solar screen, not so much for the heat factor but for privacy. The only time anyone can see in your garage is at night if you leave a light on. Last but not least we must come and go at least ten times a day. I can't imagine the motor on an automatic one would last very long.
