If they are Crotons which are often is grown as a houseplant, but in tropical regions it grows into a small tree outdoors.
This plant is frost tender, so outdoor plants can die in winter.

Jimbo.. who's Steve???? It was Tom who was the rude poster. And, then again, he may be correct, but its the manner in which it was stated, rude, obnoxious and mean and we don't need that stuff on here. The person who's landscaping it is, paid a good price for it, and its always easy to second-guess another person's decision. But give constructive criticism not rude remarks,,, unless of course, you are the competition????
