My younger daughter is observing her 14th anniversary today (6/28) in St. Louis (currently 102, I think).
I reminded her that her wedding day was the hottest of the summer of 1998. She remembers it well!
For an outdoor wedding and reception, we'd several days before selected the perfect spot for the service. On the day, the spot was in full sun! Staff and others, including the groom, said "To h*** with the original plans, just move evrything into the shade."
Meanwhile, the bride was inside freezing to death because she hadn't thought to bring a cover up for her off-the-soulder gown! And, her husband's purple tie bled all over his shirt!
And, no one ate any of the hot hors d'oeuvres!
