For an outdoor wedding and reception, we'd several days before selected the perfect spot for the service. On the day, the spot was in full sun! Staff and others, including the groom, said "To h*** with the original plans, just move evrything into the shade."
Meanwhile, the bride was inside freezing to death because she hadn't thought to bring a cover up for her off-the-soulder gown! And, her husband's purple tie bled all over his shirt!
And, no one ate any of the hot hors d'oeuvres!

My youngest sister and her husband got married on 6/13/1998 in a very old, un-air-condtioned Catholic church in Cincinnati. Hotter than blue blazes on that day, and I'm in a long bridesmaid's dress, sweating with all of the other bridesmaids and flower girls. Luckily the priest decided to make it an abbreviated wedding liturgy as my brother-in-law was not Catholic at that time. We were in and out of the church in 35 minutes -- thank you Father!
