“Wipe the Table. Eliminate Some Flies. Front of the House should measure up to Back of the House.”
Reviewed July 18, 2012 NEW
Warmly greeted. Offered inside or outside seating. We selected inside due to threatening skies and chance of insects. Despite the computer advising no window tables available, the sparce late afternoon crowd had left one for us. We were ushered to a window table overlooking the golf course.
The bare table wanted a wipe which did not happen. Two Encyclopedic sized sticky menus were distributed to each representing both the nearly identical lunch and dinner offerings. Prices for the selections are the same whether ordered off the lunch or dinner menu. The dinner menu boasts chops and pasta. Despite the inside table, ample houseflies kept those at the table busy throughout the meal.
Since it was "Happy Hour" the vodka tonic was an entire shaker filled for $ 4.50!
Portions were generous, presented very well. Flavors all quite nice. The French onion soup is some of the most savory we have found. Salads so large they could not be finished. Perfectly fried batter dipped cod sandwich was accompanied by one half lemon in a delightful mesh bag to retain seeds. Cole slaw had nearly no flavor beyond cabbage.
Total for four who had no room for dessert a most reasonable $ 54.00 .
Patrons may need to point-out details to the staff which need attention such as the table's need for a wipe, drink order ignored, removing plates and asking to remove plates of folks still in process. The friendly staff will likely be accomodating. They just seem to have forgotten to address details.
