As others have suggested. I would build the garage to fit your needs and if there is room on your lot I would "oversize" it. My salesperson told me that houses with golf cart garages are easier to resale so thats another factor to take into consideration. On an average, I would say that an "oversize" garage is about 80 sq. ft larger----now that is without the golf cart garage.
