All in all we waited about an hour and a half, but it was worth it to see that people can still act like "nicely" under adverse conditions.

At the risk of sounding perverse, from what I've heard, I would guess that the people were festive and happy because they were getting rid of Comcast equipment—and Comcast itself!!!
