I bet you are right: a shallow, inadvertent slash when opening a box. Also agree that it is unlikely Carts and Clubs was trying to cover anything up. It is more likely that they-- and every other dealerships-- has seen this happen before on occasion. Since they knew it could possibly have happened that way, they took the high road, for which they deserve Kudos.

Sorry it happened but very happy to read that C&C took care of it for you at no charge.
