I read the article and one could extrapolate it to include most of the other holidays if commercialism is the catalyst to not participate. Notice how Walmart has Christmas stuff out already? When I was a kid, the Christmas season didn't officially start until Santa made his appearence at the Macy's Day parade.

In any event, I really enjoy seeing the kids in their costumes and we like to decorate with a spooky theme. I add something new every year and just like to have fun with Holloween. And yes, I still celebrate the other holidays, but always try to keep the "spirit" (pun intended) of the holiday at the forefront.
