Right, it might be their blood sugar that went out of balance.
You can't save people from themselves when they are bent on self destruction. The Hostess brands might as well come back because there's no shortage of other products to fill the gap. Every supermarket has a bakery with cream filled goodies. Then there are donut shops with cream filled donuts etc..
At least there's a silver lining: The article states that, "Hostess sales have been declining over the years." It could be that as people become more educated they are demanding a higher level of "junk food". Yahoo! That's progress!
I found it interesting that the article stated they failed to update their products. Well, maybe, but it's too late now. How can you update an iconic brand and still have it be the same "great" brand that people have come to be addicted to?
Trying to update the brands will be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. In my opinion, no good will come of it because these brands are tainted. They have failure written all over them and won't do anyone any good. Although, there's one exception where it could be a success: Some billionaire could buy Hostess and put it in a museum.
