Hope for Twinkies
It seems there are many buyers for the Hostest products.
Article in new York Daily Post: Twinkies will likely survive as Hostess says it has more than 100 interested buyers for its iconic brands - NYPOST.com |

I might also mention that he runs 25 + miles a week, works out and has a body fat of less than 8%. All things balance out. |
In the tri-state area, it is unbelievable how many people are in a hissy fit about not getting Hostess twinkies and other products. It's like their universe went out of balance. LOL
|
The first rumor I heard on network news was that a business in Mexico was interested in taking over. I wonder if they're thinking of making piņatas out of them!

There was a big story in The Wall Street Journal many years ago about a young man who was into fitness training and ran about 10 miles a day. He was going to get married so he wanted to get a complete physical beforehand. His PSA reading was high so he went for a biopsy and found that he had prostate cancer at age 30. |
Long live the Twinkie

There is no doubt that the various national brands & recipes that Hostess owns will be bought up by another food/baking company. There is too much potential revenue to be had.
It will just be a matter of who comes up with the most cash and how they integrate them into their current business. |
Long live "Devil Dogs".

You can't save people from themselves when they are bent on self destruction. The Hostess brands might as well come back because there's no shortage of other products to fill the gap. Every supermarket has a bakery with cream filled goodies. Then there are donut shops with cream filled donuts etc.. At least there's a silver lining: The article states that, "Hostess sales have been declining over the years." It could be that as people become more educated they are demanding a higher level of "junk food". Yahoo! That's progress! ;) I found it interesting that the article stated they failed to update their products. Well, maybe, but it's too late now. How can you update an iconic brand and still have it be the same "great" brand that people have come to be addicted to? Trying to update the brands will be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. In my opinion, no good will come of it because these brands are tainted. They have failure written all over them and won't do anyone any good. Although, there's one exception where it could be a success: Some billionaire could buy Hostess and put it in a museum. |

Yes, we all know that Hostess is not the best food choice by a long shot by they are so good.
GOD bless those that can eat them as I am a type two diabetic and don't eat them except once in a blue moon. Patty - You are funny, "The Breafast of Champions". :D |
