I, too, moved from the suburbs of Boston and had really never been very sick while living in Massachusetts, but my primary care was at Beth Israel and it does not get much better than that! However after moving here my other half had a rare cancer and I had major kidney problems. My husband was diagnosed right here by our primary care, and I was diagnosed at one of the critical care clinics, and then passed along to a local urologist who sent me to Mayo.

So don't give up on the availability of good medical care right here just yet - oh, and while I'm about it, let me tell you that the 3 hr drive from here to Mayo is a piece of cake compared to getting in and out of the Beth Israel in the middle of Boston.
