I think it matters a great deal "how many homes you own" because in some of the big cities, we have what we call absentee landlords. They don't care about the properties or the neighborhoods, only how much rent they can collect. If there is not a cap on how many homes one can own, what is there to prevent this type of home ownership from taking hold here. I don't know what the cap should be, perhaps live in one and own two others, but we shouldn't allow anyone to just buy however many they can afford.
