HAD to see the movie as the music is so memorable and dramatic. Not disappointed in the least. Jackman and Hathaway performance is breathtaking and will win Awards. The Direction and filming is spellbinding. Movie is over 2 1/2 hours but feels much less. The closeups and live singing of all songs impacted the experience. Music is heartwrenching. I must say (I'm a 64 yo guy). I wept the last 10 minutes - and I KNOW how it ends...
If you enjoy music and great performances this is for you. I'm going again.

Just saw the Les Miz film at the Rialto and it was wonderful. Have seen the stage musical several times but for some reason, the film version was so much easier to understand. At the end of the film, the audience joined in a rousing ovation. How many times have you seen that happen at a movie theater?
Took my 78-year-old neighbor who has never seen the production. She loved it and is right now listening to the Les Miserables CD I just loaned to her. Go see the movie...you won't be disappointed!
