Sorry you had such a bad experience. These types of classes the club conducts, have a hard time staying on topic. Many folks come for the wrong reasons and dominate the discussion. It's unlikely that these meetings will help you much.
The Mac is very easy to use and you only need to know a few basics to get going.
If you have some specific questions, PM me [or post on here] and I will try to help you out.
The other alternative is to make an appointment at the Apple Store and one of their Geniuses will give you a one-on-one session; albeit, you have to pay for that.
